Etihad launch ‘premium’ Twitter customer service

We have previously found Etihad frustrating to deal with. That’s why we are so pleased that Etihad have launched a new Twitter account @EtihadPremium.


Protected so that only verified Gold and Platinum members can tweet the account, Etihad promise five minute response time. We will see. Perhaps next time we are flying Etihad First Class.

Etihad Gold and Platinum members need to email with a “photocopy” of their membership card, date of birth, post code and twitter handle. Etihad will then follow you and you can follow them back.

This may of course be difficult for people for whom Etihad have not yet got around to sending their Gold or Platinum membership card.


Edited to add: over at One Mile At a Time it looks like this account is just set up with a bot to respond telling you to email them. Is this all just a massive exercise to try and keep customer complaints offline?
